Lake Hitchcock Chapter
Chapter President
Doug Wilkins is a professor of Computer Information systems at Greenfield Community College (Greenfield, MA). He has been a professional educator for over 30 years and brings a wealth of youth leadership experience to SCUBAnauts. Born in the Boston area, he, Cathy (see below) and their three children enjoy diving together as a family. They reside in Heath, Massachusetts, population about 850 (not counting the cows, on an old farm with 30 acres. Their youngest child, Caitlyn, is a charter member of the Lake Hitchcock chapter. His Undergraduate degree is from Colorado State University (Go Moo U!), and his M.Ed. is from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
His youth leadership experience includes over 10 years working at youth summer camps with 3 years as a Camp director for the Boy Scouts of America. He has also been a Waterfront Director and was a Water Safety Instructor. He also led both hiking and canoe trips in many parts of New England. He has PADI Advanced Open Water certification.
He and his wife, Cathy, discovered SCUBAnauts on their third trip to the Florida Keys with students from Greenfield High School. They have been bringing down groups of students to dive in the coral reefs to learn about that incredible ecosystem. (and no, he was not actually on the cover of any magazines...)
Chapter Vice President & Education Officer
Cathy Wilkins has been a science teacher for the past 28 years. Her primary disciplines are Biology and Environmental Science. She has been teaching at Greenfield High School for the past 15 years. Coral aquaculture and seahorse rearing are a few of her interests. She is an avid outdoors person with experience hiking, biking, running, and doing Triathlons. She has a B.S. in Natural Resources from the University of Massachusetts and a M.S. in Environmental Science from Antioch New England.
Over the past 6 years she has worked with groups of students from her school to study about the coral reefs, earn their basic Open Water dive certification, and then travel to the Florida Keys to study coral reef ecology. SCUBAnauts and the Greenfield High Ecology students enjoyed participating in fish counts and coral identification on their last trip.
She grew up in Salem, Mass, and now resides in the small town of Heath, Massachusetts, with her husband, and their 3 children. The youngest, Caitlyn, is a charter member of the Lake Hitchcock Chapter. She is a PADI Advanced Open Water diver, and also holds a NAUI open water certification as well as serving as a AHA CPR instructor and on the National Ski Patrol. She is also holds Wilderness Emergency Care certification.

Chapter Captain
Capt. Dave Casoni has been involved with scouting for over 40 years, and was a public school teacher for 30 years and a lobsterman for over 25 years. He is currently a lobsterman, environmentalist, natralist, boat captain, and, if that were not enough, president of the Massachusetts Lobsterman's Association.
Dave is also an avid outdoorsman and hunter.
